On Hold to Evanston

(to the tune of Margaritaville)

Checkin' my e-mail, chewin' my thumbnail,
Searchin' the gopher from my PC,
Readin' PC Week, takin' a quick peek
At x-rated gifs I downloaded for free.

Chorus:
	Wastin' away again on hold to Evanston,
	Searchin' for what makes my whole system halt,
	They're tellin' me that local mods are to blame,
	But I know, that it's not my fault.

Why do I do it?  There's no point to it;
Just adds a record to PTS.
But I keep prayin', that something they're sayin'
Will help me make sense of this horrible mess.

Chorus:
	Wastin' away again on hold to Evanston,
	Searchin' for what makes my whole system halt,
	They're tellin' me that there's a woman to blame,
	But I know, it's not Jane Burke's fault.

I think I can face it, 'cause we'll soon replace it;
We know what the next generation will be;
Not too surprisin', it won't be Horizon,
We've chosen a system called Dynix Marquis -- What? Oh, no!

Chorus:
	Wastin' away again on hold to Evanston,
	Searchin' for what makes my whole system halt,
	Now they can't say that local mods are to blame,
	We all know it's their own damned fault.
